Sometimes you just have to cock your head to the side, raise one eyebrow and say "What?"
Such was the feeling I experienced just a little while ago. I need to renew my fishing license. This year, I'm also going to have to buy a costal license as well, so I can surf fish this summer now that my parents have moved to the beach.
So there I was, on the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission website when I noticed this gem among the lifetime license definitions:
Unified Infant Sportsman/Coastal Recreational Fishing (under age 1):Statewide hunting, inland and coastal recreational fishing. Includes hunting for big game, hunting on game lands, hunting for waterfowl (does not include federal duck stamp), fishing in designated Public Mountain Trout Waters, fishing in trout waters on game lands, and fishing in joint waters.
Yes, in North Carolina, even our infants can go hunting big game and waterfowl.
Of course I see why this exists... but that doesn't make it any less hilarious. Remember, guns don't kill people, infants with guns kill people!
