Grace Community Church: You can check out, but you can never leave

Yay, lets hear it for Grace Community Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Once again, we are shown the love and acceptance of a church as they kindly treat one of their parishioners who has somehow fallen afoul of one of God's many rules.

They, of course, are demonstrating their love by taking everything this woman said, in private, to her mentor in the church, and telling it to every member during service, while her children are there. What a warm devotional that must be. More specifically, what a bunch of loving, caring and concerned Christians they are. Imagine, taking her confessions, uttered in private to a member of the church and sharing them with the entire congregation!  read more »

This is what happens when you can't think for yourself...

The clip below is from an episode of Trading Spouses (I think... either that or Wife Swap). All I can say is Holy Crap! I knew that people could get like this, that ignorance can lead to some jaw dropping things, but I've never seen anything like this before.

The sad thing is, her husband and kids are all sitting around excited that she is coming home. They have gifts in hand and are prepared to welcome her home with all their love. Then you get to see their smiles turn into horrified looks of shock as she immediately starts screaming at everyone about being tainted with darkness and all this other typical overzealous religious drivel. Ahhh, Those Wacky Mormons

I came across this little bit of animated joy today while reading some forums I frequent. This video is just simply amazing. From the poorly rendered 70's style animation to the bad acting and sound effects to the overall message, this video is just priceless in its absurdity.

I do not know if it is real or not, or more specifically, I dont know that this is a true representation of the Mormon faith, but it made me laugh out loud, and then stare in mute amazement and left me with the inability to actually create a coherent sentence. More on Virginia Tech

UPDATE: It appears that the asshats at WBC intend to protest funerals of Tech students. When I find a date for this, I am probably going to take a day and return home and join others who will stand against them and the hate they spew.

First of all, I am sorry if I seem to ramble. Yesterday I was in full on Analytical Mode and was busy digesting all the data I could find relating to the shootings at Tech. This morning, the emotional stuff hit me hard, so I have been having a rough day of it. Thankfully, everyone I know was either off campus or on a different part of campus. I don't think I know of anyone who would have been in the buildings that the murders occured, but I won't know for sure until they release the names of the victims publically.

I noticed today that I have had several unique visitors to my site, 100% of which got here because they were searching google for some combination of Westboro Baptist Church and Virginia Tech. WTF people? Why would you even make the connection? Well, admittedly, it is unfair of me to even ask that, because one of the first things that occured to me yesterday is that Fred Phelps and his inbred wacko family would turn this into some sort of hate filled theological message. I was right in that assumption, as the search strings seem to indicate. read more »
